Shot through the trampoline net which makes the image appear grainy and her little left hand is cropped out and yet it's is an all-time fav: With everything i can see that is 'wrong' with this all i really see is Che looking right at down the lens while he sings to me: Just playing around and yet I love these shots: So very, very dark with some focussing issues and i wish i could see more of my Mum's face but i love seeing her lovin' her grandbaby: Poorly cropped but what a proud and so very loved little hunka poultry this gal is:
Sometimes you don't realise until later that there were very special moments happening on the side-lines:
the brief:A Caring Portrait is a micro project bringing together Carers (supported by Carer Support) as a collaborating partner in creating their own fantasy portraits as an opportunity to show the diversity and strength of what lays beneath the exterior of individuals in a caring role. The project provides an opportunity for Carers to experience the catharsis of reimagining themselves and sharing their stories in a safe format. The project will produce an exhibition of 10 glass photography portraits, a small behind the scenes photography package and a poetry ‘portrait’ installation. brainstorming:It's quite exciting collaborating with other creatives. I have done this many times with my songwriting but never as a photographer. There are two other artists involved in this project; Alysha Herrmann (Poet) and Vanessa Kalderovskis (Face/Body painter) and we have each been given creative autonomy with our respective roles. It's so great to be working with two other people who care just as much about the outcome and yet still have so much room to flex creatively! it begins... mood board making:So this last week (on Wednesday 18th of Feb) the team came together with the staff at Carer Support and a small group of carers who are keen to be involved in the project. The participants were asked to create a mood board sharing parts of their stories that they were comfortable sharing as well as colours, images, creating dreamscapes etc! These boards are going to give both Alysha and Vanessa the prompts they will need to create the poetry and the make-up design for each participant. During this session introductions were made, delicious food was eaten and stories were shared! The group is such a great mix of age and background and yet their stories have similarities. Needles to say: I AM IN AWE OF THEM! While the group got stuck into making their mood boards I just pottered around the room taking some pictures: At the very end of the session i took a quick picture of each of the mood boards. The team chatted about how we all love how brilliantly unique each board is and the participants said, as most adults who get to sit uninterrupted around a craft table tend to say: IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! :-) We're all feeling quite excited at this point! I've been making a big effort to collage my Instagram pictures
in Photo Grid every week. I'm about four months in and it's making for a really easy method of memory keeping. |
